How Do You Treat DTF Prints With Heat Press?

Textile printing has made customizing apparel with different prints, designs, colors, and patterns possible. Also, technical advancements have made it more convenient and cost-effective to customize garments with unique designs. The process used for textile printing is called DTF heat press where DTF stands for direct-to-film. The process involves the following steps.

The process starts with printing the design on a specific film using a DTF printer. The printed film is taken to a heat press where the design is printed on the garment. A heat press has two arms or platens – upper and lower. The garment is placed on the lower platen and treated and the design is placed over the garment. Finally, the upper arm is pressed against the lower arm.

The press is heated to a certain temperature to allow the ink to melt and set decently over the fabric. The pressure and temperature are prefixed on the machine. Also, the heat press adjustments are made according to fabric type and color variations. The machine releases the pressure on completion of the heat press cycle.

The process has quickly become popular in the textile printing industry due to its low-cost of investment and cost-effective printing. Buying a DTF heat press machine isn’t an expensive affair. Also, you don’t need any training to operate the machine. It has automatic functions that keep the operator free to monitor settings.

Advantages of direct-to-film heat and press process

1. No Color Limitations

Unlike regular textile printing, DTF allows all colors in the palette. It can even print photorealistic graphics and color gradients on textiles. It sets you free to choose any color and customize your garments according to your needs. This kind of color freedom isn’t available with regular textile printing methods.

2. Quick Turnaround Time

DTF printing can help beat the deadlines. If you are a commercial textile printer and always busy chasing deadlines, you should switch to DTF printing. It is faster than others and the best thing about heat press printing is it doesn’t compromise on quality of prints.

3. Cost Effective

Commercial textile printers can save their print costs with the DTF heat press process. Cost saving is a big advantage of DTF printing and for this reason, it is quite beneficial for commercial jobs. If you have a commercial textile printing job, you can use heat and press processes to save costs and give discounts to your customers.
